Cambodia: A deteriorating situation for Human Rights Defenders: Amnesty International and LICADHO submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review, January – February 2014

In the submission, Amnesty International and LICADHO evaluate the implementation of a number of the recommendations that Cambodia accepted during its first review at the sixth UPR session in December 2009. The organization is concerned that little has been done to implement many of these recommendations, particularly those relating to the national human rights framework and the situation on the ground for human rights defenders – those who, individually or with others, act peacefully to promote or protect human rights.
