Turkey: Systematic torture continues in 2002

Amnesty International continues to receive reports about new torture cases on a regular basis. This report contains summaries of some of the case histories researched by Amnesty International. They concern torture and ill-treatment of more than 60 persons in Turkey between January and early June 2002. From all the information available, Amnesty International concludes that in spite of the legal changes torture is still widespread and practised systematically in Turkey.
