Tunisia: The cycle of injustice.

More than ten years after the mass and grossly unfair military trials of 1992, hundreds of political activists or alleged opponents remain in prison. After years of cruel and discriminatory treatment in prison, those released suffer harassment, arbitrary rearrest and the denial of basic rights. Amnesty International urges the Tunisian authorities to take effective steps to improve the human rights situation and bring practices into line with Tunisian law and international human rights treaties which the Tunisian government has ratified.
