Bolivia: Open letter from Amnesty International to the Bolivian authorities regarding deaths in the the town of Warisata, Bolivia.

This letter to Bolivia’s Minister of Government is in the interest of obtaining information regarding the events of 20 September in the town of Warisata, La Paz department, which left an alarming toll of six dead including one minor and several injured. The incident occurred when security forces attempted to remove roadblocks in the area of La Paz-Sorata which had been used as a protest by local peasants against the Bolivian government’s failure to comply with agreements related to social and economic demands.
