Bahamas: Forgotten detainees? Prison Conditions: Appeals for Action

The rate of imprisonment in the Bahamas, 478 per 100,000, is the 8th highest in the world. Many prisoners continue to be detained in conditions amounting to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment. A substantial number have been detained without trial for over two years. This document presents the organisation’s key findings and recommendations and contains appeals for action.
