Morocco/Western Sahara: Rights Trampled: Protests, violence and repression in Western Sahara

Violent confrontations broke out in November 2010 when Moroccan security forces sought to forcibly remove people from a tented “protest camp.” In this document Amnesty International calls on the authorities to ensure that prompt investigations are carried out into all human rights abuses which are alleged to have occurred in connection with the events of 8 November. The organization also recommends that detainees are protected against torture or other ill-treatment and to make public the instructions on the use of force that are issued to law enforcement personnel and members of the security forces.
