The above-named, who comes from the Hebron area on the West Bank, was arrested in July 1991 and issued with a six-month detention order. He is currently held in Ketziot detention centre. He appealed against his order and at a hearing held on 21 August 1991, his appeal was rejected; he is due for release in December 1991. Amnesty International does not have enough information to determine whether Hatem Sha’ban al-Hur is a prisoner of conscience, but is concerned that he may not have been given an adequate opportunity to challenge his detention order.
