In this oral statement, delivered at the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) on 27 September 2018, Amnesty International urges the HRC to renew the mandate of the Group of Eminent Experts on Yemen and draws attention for the need for the Maldivian government to implement human rights pledges including by releasing wrongly imprisoned persons, repealing repressive laws and creating an environment conducive to human rights.
