Amnesty International welcomes the opportunity to share examples of contributions by human rights defenders to positive change and human rights progress despite the hostile and dangerous situations in which they operate. Recognizing their role and celebrating their work and achievements is key for their protection. In this document we summarize some concrete positive changes that have taken place in recent years thanks to the work of numerous human rights defenders and organizations, local and international.
