This submission was prepared for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Italy in November 2019. In it, Amnesty International evaluates the implementation of recommendations made to Italy in its previous UPR (in 2014) including in relation to the rights of refugees and migrants. It also assesses the national human rights framework with regard to protection against torture and police accountability.
