Saudi Arabia: Case Study of Khalil al-Janahi

In November 2008 Khalil Abdul Rahman Abdul Karim al-Janahi was deported from Saudi Arabia to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where he was immediately detained and held in incommunicado detention. He was released uncharged in June 2009. Khalil al-Janahi’s story is one among thousands of people who have had their human rights violated in the name of counter-terrorism. Amnesty International calls on the Saudi Arabian authorities to end all arbitrary detentions; to provide fair trials to all detainees held; and to investigate all allegations of torture.
