Pakistan: Insufficient protection of women

This report summarizes Pakistan’s official commitments to uphold women’s rights made since October 1999 and describes instances of abuse of women’s rights in the family, in the community and in custody. It then describes the difficulties which women face in the criminal justice system when they seek redress. The report ends on a set of recommendations to the Government of Pakistan. The appendix lists a number of international resolutions against ‘honour’ crimes.
