Amnesty International is concerned about those who are still detained following the 4 June 1989 crackdown against pro-democracy protesters. This document sites examples of people who are still imprisoned after unfair trials for their activities during the protest. Many were convicted of “counter revolutionary” offences which are no longer crimes under Chinese law. AI calls upon the the government to address these human rights violations and grant an amnesty for all 1989 pro-democracy prisioners.
