Myanmar: Min Ko Naing – student leader and prisoner of conscience

This document gives details of the case of student leader Min Ko Naing who was arrested in 1989 and sentenced to imprisonment for calling for students to instigate a campaign of civil disobedience to protest against military rule. Min Ko Naing has been tortured and kept in solitary confinement. Although he was due to be released in 1999 he continues to be detained.
