Members of the Me’ phaa Indigenous People’s Organization in Mexico (OPIM) have succeeded in bringing cases of discrimination and human rights abuse against Indigenous people to public attention. To continue their work they have had to overcome threats and harassment and the killing of one of their leading members. In this document, Amnesty International calls on the Mexican authorities to acknowledge the work of OPIM; to investigate threats against OPIM members; to investigate the killings of Alejandro Feliciano García and Lorenzo Fernández Ortega and to provide effective protection to OPIM members.
