Zimbabwe: Breaking away from the past: A human rights manifesto for political parties and candidates

Elections offer a chance to break with decades of gross human rights violations. Zimbabwe’s election on 30 July, will take place in the context of decades of politically motivated gross human rights violations, including mass killings, the forced disappearance of critics and suppression of peaceful protesters. Amnesty International makes seven human rights recommendations to political parties and candidates and calls on political parties and candidates to break away from the past by prioritising human rights.
