Niger: Further information: Activist cleared of charges, another awaiting trial: Yahaya Badamassi and Sadat Illiya Dan Malam
Activist Yahaya Badamassi has been released after he was cleared of all charges by the Appeal Court of Zinder on 6 December. He had been detained for eight months charged with “participation in an insurrectional movement” and “conspiracy against state security”. Activist Sadat Illiya Dan Malam is still in detention awaiting trial.
