JORDANMustafa ‘Abd al-Mustafa
Mustafa ‘Abd al-Mustafa was executed by hanging at dawn on 15 October 1998.
Mustafa ‘Abd al-Mustafa had been sentenced to death by the Criminal Court on
3 March after being found guilty of killing Haygar 'Ali in Amman in February
1996. He had initially been sentenced to life imprisonment on 16 March 1997.
However, the Court of Cassation reviewed the case and returned the case to
the Criminal Court, ordering a harsher penalty to be imposed.
This is the third execution known to have taken place in Jordan this year.
