Amnesty International has learned that on 24 February 1995, prisoner of
conscience Santosa Layme Bejar was released. On 23 February the Corte Superior
de Lima, High Court of Lima, the capital, ruled that Santosa Layme should be
released immediately because there was no evidence of her having any links
to the armed opposition group Partido Comunista del Perú (Sendero Luminoso),
PCP, Communist Party of Peru (Shining Path).
