This leaflet briefly describes the human rights violations facing women caught up in the conflict in Sudan. Politically active women have been harassed and imprisoned without trial or have been made to report to security offices each day for long periods. Sections in the penal code are used particularly against women. In the war zones, many gross human rights, including rape, torture and killing, have been perpetrated against women by both sides.
