Macedonia: Failures in the Former Yugoslav republic: Impunity for war crimes and rendition; discrimination and limits on freedom of expression. Amnesty International Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review, January – February 2014

In this submission, Amnesty International evaluates the implementation of recommendations accepted during Macedonia’s previous UPR. Amnesty International is concerned about the failure to fully implement the 2010 Anti-Discrimination Law, the Decade of Roma Inclusion Action Plans and European Union legislation on human and minority rights. Other concerns include impunity for crimes under international law, restriction of freedom of expression, discrimination against LGBTI people and the failure to guarantee the rights of Roma.
