Lao People’s Democratic Republic: Religious imprisonment

This document gives details of the Lao government’s growing intolerance of those that worship in churches not officially approved of by the state. Particularly targetted are those that have contact with foreign organizations such as the ten people currently imprisoned for their activities connected with the Church of Christ. The case of Khamtanh Phousy, a former army captain who converted to Christianity in 1992, is also examined.
