The conflict in northern Uganda between Government of Uganda’s armed forces and the Lord’s Resistance Army lasted nearly twenty years. Since 2006, with the cessation of hostilities between the parties following a peace process, it has abated. Victims and survivors of human rights violations committed during the conflict still bear the scars. In this document Amnesty International calls on the government of Uganda to establish an effective reparations program which is victim focused, comprehensive, consultative with victims and the civil society and properly resourced.
