Mohamed Nowar Aso, a dentist, was arrested in late 1990 by military intelligence agents. Nothing is known of his fate or whereabouts since then although he is believed to have originally come into conflict with the authorities for protesting against the turning of the civilian hospital in Kadugli into a military hospital. Mirghani Kafi, a male nurse, was arrested in September 1991, also in Kadugli. The reasons for his arrest are unknown and nothing is known of his fate or whereabouts.
