South Africa: Update: Health Professional Action: “I am at the lowest end of all” – Rural women living with HIV face human rights abuses in South Africa

In its response to the HIV epidemic and to discrimination and violence against women, the Government of South Africa has obligations under both national law and international human rights law to eliminate all forms of discrimination, including on the grounds of gender, sexuality or economic status, in the realization of the right to health. In line with phase two of this campaign, this action asks participants to shift their focus from government ministers at national level to those at the provincial levels (known as ‘Members of the Executive Council’).
