Liberia: Submission to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission

On 18 August 2006 Amnesty International made a formal submission to the Liberian Truth and Reconciliation Commission. This executive summary of cases and events is summarized and categorized according to human rights violations and abuses. The intention of the submission is to contribute to the investigation of human rights violations and abuses, grave breaches and other violations of international humanitarian law, as well as the need to establish an impartial and complete account of the historical past of Liberia from 1979 until 2003, the temporal jurisdiction of the Commission.
