Kenya: Silencing opposition to one-party rule

This document describes the detention of advocates of a multi-party system in Kenya. Three cases of people held under indefinite administrative orders are described, as well as four other cases of government critics in jail awaiting trial for sedition. Short-term arrests, interrogations and harassment of government critics has also been common. Torture and ill- treatment of several prisoners has been alleged.
