On 20 November 2008 the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly adopted by a large majority a second draft resolution (A/C.3/63/L.19/Rev.1) on moratorium on executions. The increased support for this resolution is yet further evidence of the worldwide trend towards the abolition of the death penalty.
