Thailand: Amnesty International's response to bombings in Bangkok
Amnesty International condemns the series of bombings in Bangkok, on the evening of 31 December and the early hours of 1 January. Three people were killed and almost 40 injured in what appeared to be coordinated attacks in areas frequented by civilians, including bus stops, markets and shopping centres.
These bomb attacks should be investigated promptly, effectively, and impartially. Those found responsible should be brought to justice according to international fair trial standards.
Amnesty International extends its condolences to the victims and their families
