Libya: Time to make human rights a reality

The report focuses on the civil and political rights situation in Libya, in particular laws that criminalize the peaceful exercise of freedom of expression and association, and unfair trials of political cases. The report also looks at past policies and events constituting grave human rights violations which continue to cast a shadow on Libya’s human rights record, such as the “disappearance” of political prisoners and “physical liquidation” of political opponents.
