In this open letter, written on the occasion of Kuwait’s election to UN Human Rights Council on 20 May 2011, Amnesty International takes the opportunity to note some opportunities for the government of Kuwait to promote and protect human rights on the occasion of its candidature. The organization makes recommendations about commitments at the international level and also at national level.
