The above-named, a co-founder of the Asociacion para el Avance de las Ciencias Sociales en Guatemala (AVANCSO), Association for the Advancement of Social Sciences in Guatmala, was attacked, stabbed and killed as she was leaving AVANCSO offices on 11 September 1990. Sources in Guatemala fear that she may have been killed by the security forces. Her killing is seen by AVANCSO as a direct attack on those involved in activities in the field of the social sciences.
