Romani women in Macedonia suffer from double discrimination, on the grounds of both their gender and their ethnicity. This report provides evidence of discrimination against Romani women and documents human rights violations to which Romani women and girls in Macedonia are exposed and the obstacles they face in accessing three basic rights: the right to education, the right to work and the right to health, enshrined in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR). It also reports on the failure of the Macedonian authorities to protect Romani women and girls from gender-based violence.
