Aslan Pavlovich Akhmadov was detained in March 2002. On that day reportedly Russian federal forces were conducting a raid on the village, in order to check passports. Since then five men from the village, including Aslan Akhmadov have been "disappeared". His family has no information about his whereabouts and wellbeing. His family appealed to the European Court of Human Rights and have since been the subject of harassment. This appeal case asks that letters be sent to the Russian authorities urging them to release information about his whereabouts as well as urging his immediate release.
