In April 2002 uniformed men took away Ali Saindinovich Khadaev, commonly known as Timur. His mother paid US$2,500, allegedly to obtain his release and he was released. In January 2003 a uniformed group of men came and took him to the district commander's office. His mother contacted local human rights organizations and the procuracy in order to open a criminal investigation into the "disappearance" of her son. Over a year later she still had no information whatsoever concerning his whereabouts. This appeal case asks that letters be written expressing concern about his wellbeing and urging his release.
