Spain: Report of seminar “Police complaints investigation mechanisms in the Spanish context”: Madrid, 17 October 2008

For several years Amnesty International has been investigating and reporting on allegations of torture, ill-treatment, and other human rights abuses committed by law enforcement officials in European Union countries, including Spain. Amnesty International recommends the creation of independent police complaints commissions. The purpose of this seminar was to consider how such an institution could be established and operate in Spain.
