China: Tibetan scholar released on bail: Tagyal: Further information

Tagyal, Tibetan scholar and writer, was released on bail on 14 October 2010. According to his lawyer, he has returned home. Tagyal, who writes under the pen name Shogdung, has returned home under “qubao houshen” which means “obtain a guarantor while pending trial”. It is a type of release on bail, under which the individual is not allowed to leave their city or county of residence without permission.
