This report, published jointly by Amnesty International, the International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA), and Oxfam International, adds the voices of some of the people who bear the cost of the world's continuing failure to control the arms trade. Haiti produces no firearms itself except for home-made 'Creole' guns which are usually crude handguns or rifles made from old ones. Most arms are smuggled into Haiti from neighbouring countries in the region, including from the USA. Irresponsible arms transfers still fuel atrocities in Haiti and in many other countries.
