Chile/Peru: Fujimori extradition – a key step towards justice
In reaction to today’s decision by the Chilean Supreme Court to extradite former President Alberto Fujimori to Peru, where he faces charges of human rights violations and corruption, Amnesty International said:

“The Chilean Supreme Court’s decision to extradite Alberto Fujimori to Peru is a very important step in the search for justice for the thousands of victims of torture, killings, enforced disappearances and other human rights violations committed during throughout the Fujimori government era.”

“The Peruvian authorities must take this decision forward and ensure that all victims of human rights violations committed under Fujimori’s administration receive justice and reparations.”
