Maher al-Dasuqi, who hosts a popular television program broadcast by two local Palestinian stations, was arrested on 15 September 1999, shortly after a Palestinian prisoner’s mother criticized the Palestinian Authority on his program. Amnesty International considers him a prisoner of conscience.
