1. The “disappearance” of the Ansari family on 1 May 1996; 2. The extrajudicial execution of Naeem Sherry, a 26-year-old MQM activist, and Amjad Khalil Baig by police in March 1996; 3. The death in military custody of well-known Sindhi politician Yusef Jakhrani on 12 June 1992 after reportedly enduring six days of torture; 4. Prisoners of conscience Riaz Ahmed Choudhry and family, members of the Ahmadiyya community, who have been detained since November 1993 charged with religious offences; 5. The killing in April 1995 in suspicious circumstances of children’s rights activist Iqbal Masih.
