Mongolia: Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review: Ninth session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council, November-December 2010 (INCLUDES ERRATUM)

In this submission, Amnesty International provides information under sections B, C and D, as stipulated in the General Guidelines for the Preparation of Information under the Universal Periodic Review. Amnesty International raises concern over inadequate human rights legislation and the death penalty. The organization also describes concerns in relation to prison conditions, torture and other ill-treatment, impunity surrounding the 1 July 2008 riot, slums, and discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Amnesty International makes a number of recommendations for action by the government to address the areas of concern.
