Mexico: Amnesty International Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review: Fourth session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council, February 2009

In this submission, Amnesty International provides information as stipulated in the General Guidelines for the Preparation of Information under the Universal Periodic Review. Amnesty International highlights concerns in relation to human rights legislation, national human rights institutions, and the implementation of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. The organization also raises concerns in the context of impunity for human rights violations, public security, torture and other serious human rights violations, social activists and human rights defenders, violence against women, and Indigenous and rural communities.
