Middle East: Fear, flight and forcible exile in the Middle East

This is the third of the regional papers issued as part of the Refugee Campaign. This report explains the international system of refugee law, its application in the Middle East and why it has failed many of those in the region who have been forced to abandon their homes. It also highlights why people have been forced to seek sanctuary outside their own country. The document covers asylum-seekers, people who are recognized as refugees under international law, as well as people who have been forcibly exiled from their countries of origin or have fled generalized violence during conflicts.
