Ireland: Follow-up procedure to the forty-sixth session of the UN Committee against Torture

Amnesty International is submitting this report for consideration by the Committee against Torture to illustrate ongoing areas of concern related to the priorities for follow-up. These concerns are: reduction of financial resources for human rights institutions; the need for prompt and thorough investigations into all allegations of torture and other degrading treatment committed in the Magdalene Laundries; and prohibition of female genital mutilation.
