Nepal: Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review: Tenth session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council, January 2011

In this submission, Amnesty International raises concern over shortcomings in the peace process and constitutional drafting, the implementation of national legislation and policies, criminal justice and legal reform, impunity for human rights violations, the role of national statutory bodies in the protection of human rights, and cooperation with international human rights mechanisms. The organization also includes ongoing concerns related to the right to life, liberty and security of person; freedom of expression and association; women’s rights; the right to health, and freedom from discrimination.
