7th Session of the Human Rights Council

Country priorities: Cambodia, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar, Somalia, Sri Lanka, China.
Thematic Priorities: Renewal of Special Procedures mandates and appointment of Special Procedures mandate-holders
Amnesty International made a number of written and oral statements during the 7th session, including questions to Special Procedures during interactive dialogues: Amnesty International compilation of statements for the 7th session.
During the session, Amnesty International hosted a side event on 19 March 2008, together with the OHCHR gender unit, to present its report on Safe Schools for Girls, in the context of AI’s campaign “Stop Violence Against Women”.
