L'arrestation de Ratko Mladić doit inciter les autorités serbes à arrêter tous les suspects de crimes de guerre
Le président de la Serbie Boris Tadić a annoncé jeudi 26 mai que Ratko Mladić, ancien chef militaire bosno-serbe soupçonné de crimes de guerre, avait été arrêté en Serbie ce jeudi 26 mai 2011.
L'ancien commandant des forces bosno-serbes pendant la guerre de Bosnie de 1992-1995 a été inculpé de génocide en 1995 pour le massacre de 8 000 hommes et adolescents à Srebrenica et le siège de la ville de Sarajevo pendant 43 mois.
L'arrestation de Ratko Mladić a eu lieu jeudi 26 mai à l'aube dans la province de Voïvodine, dans le nord de la Serbie.
« Il a fallu attendre plus de 15 ans mais ceux qui ont souffert peuvent enfin nourrir l'espoir que cet homme va être jugé », a déclaré Widney Brown, directrice du programme Droit international d'Amnesty International.
« Il faut maintenant que les autorités serbes redoublent d'effort pour arrêter et déférer à la justice Goran Hadzić, autre suspect en fuite qui vivrait caché en Serbie ou en Bosnie-Herzégovine. »
