ملك البحرين يأمر بالإفراج عن السجناء السياسيين
وكان الرجلان يخضعان للمحاكمة بتهم تضمنت التحريض على إسقاط النظام وعضوية منظمة غير مشروعة. وحضر مراقب عن منظمة العفو الدولية الجلسة الأولى من محاكمتهما في مارس/آذار الماضي.
وقد أشعل اعتقال الرجلين في أوائل العام الحالي فتيل احتجاجات جماهيرية كبيرة في العديد من القرى الشيعية.
ومضى على بعض من أفرج عنهم أكثر من 15 شهراً في السجن، وكانوا قد أدينوا بتهم جنائية. ويزعم محامون وناشطون في مضمار حقوق الإنسان بأنهم قد أُكرهوا على "الاعتراف" نتيجة للتعذيب وغيره من ضروب سوء المعاملة على أيدي موظفين رسميين في الأمن البحريني.
