Muhannad al-Hassani, a Syrian human rights defender and lawyer, is in ‘Adra Prison in Damascus awaiting trial for his human rights activities. If convicted he faces between three and 15 years in jail. Muhannad al-Hassani, co-founder of the Syrian Human Rights Organization (Sawasiyah), is a prisoner of conscience detained solely for his legitimate and peaceful human rights work. He should be released immediately and unconditionally and all charges against him should be dropped.
